I bought one of these in the mid-1990's. I still have it and it has seen hard use and looks like knew, still. This is the best Bowie for the price, PERIOD! Easy to sharpen and very, very strong. When I have shown this to others, they say "Now that's a knife".
just recieved this beast of a bowie. its exactly what i want in a heavy bowie. it was intended to take the place of my camp axe on my hiking pack, and still be used as a razor sharp prescise instrument. 1095 is my favorite steel for several reasons. tempered verry well, its extremely resiliant to shock, takes an amazing toothy edge on average stones, and it touches up quicly and easily. the knife is a 10 out of 10! i love a good hefty bowie. the sheath is ok i suppose. but a knife of this quality, at this price is a great find. it would be a great knife at twice the price ( wich is usually what you pay for 1095 combat tools) ontario does a really nice job on making a durable tool. thanks again to the folks at SMKW, for carrying such hi quality products, at some of the lowest prices anywhere.
