The Battle of Gettysburg was fought July 1-3, 1863, in and around the town of Gettysburg, PA between Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The battle involved the largest number of casualties in the entire war and is often described as the war's turning point. Union Major General George Gordon Meade's Army of the Potomac defeated attacks by Confederate General Robert E Lee's Army of Northern Virgina, ending Lee's invasion of the North. This commemorative Trapper from Case® honors the brave men of both sides who fought and died there over 150 years ago on those fateful days.
